  1. Does it play full screen via Lightning-to-HDMI adapter?

    1. I don't have an adapter to test it out for myself, but it certainly should. As long as you keep your iPhone or iPad in landscape mode, you should be able to mirror whatever is on your device to your TV.

    2. Not sure if it was you that posted this, but either way, I'm happy to report it appears to work great with an HDMI adapter, one reviewer wrote this:

"Finally! An app that will shuffle my music videos! Even works full screen via the HDMI adapter out to my TV."

  2. Will MusicVideoPlayer play videos purchased during the protected-mode era (e.g. Fairplay Version 2).

    1. Unfortunately not... Apple closes this access to it's developers. It plays "purchased" drm files, just not "protected" ones.

    1. Hey WIls!
I'm sorry to hear the app isn't working correctly for you.
It definitely should play full screen when you rotate your device sideways... this is what it was designed to do! You can tell from the screenshots for the app in the app store (which were all taken directly from the device, no photoshop involved) that it will definitely play full screen.
Can you try to explain why it's not going to full screen?
      A few ideas...
In control center, there is a portrait orientation lock, make sure this is OFF.
If you are seeing letter-boxing while playing your video, then the video resolution doesn't match the resolution of your phone. The video will ALWAYS fill the screen left-to-right OR top-to-bottom, and sometimes both. If you have an iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, or iPhone 5s, then a 16:9 resolution video will fill the entire screen. If you have any other device (including iPads) then you need a 4:3 resolution video to fill the entire screen.
Feel free to respond if you have any other questions!

  4. Hi, just used the app today. Can you add volume control to the screen ? It would be easier to control on a cross Trainer to touch the screen to control, instead of the buttons

    1. Hey Wils,
Glad to hear you are using and enjoying the app!
Since the screen doesn't have a whole lot of extra space, and I wanted to keep the video the primary focus, I decided to omit a volume slider.
However, in iOS 7 you can swipe up from the bottom in any app to reveal the Control Center–this contains a volume control. This is one way to change the volume without using the hardware buttons.
I do understand this is more of a hassle than if the app contained it, though. I will consider including this in a future release, maybe for iPad only, or something like that (since the iPad contains more space).
I really do appreciate the feedback!
      Matt

  6. Hi, brought your app the other day. Works fantastically on the iPhone and iPad's screen, but I'm having some problems with using it over Airplay (to an Apple TV).

On the iPhone when using airplay the phone keeps timing out and locking itself after the normal amount of time, as the app doesn't stop it from going to sleep. When it goes to sleep it stops sending video to the Apple TV, though it does start sending audio.

On the iPad it very frequently ends at the end of a video (yes I have shuffle on). When you swipe up, the iPad screen that comes up indicates that the music is paused, but the indicator on the app says the music is playing (though the time position is stopped at the end of the video). Pressing the pause button on the app starts it up again. So for some reason it's status is going out of sync with what the iPad thinks the playing condition is in.

Is this a known problem, and is their a solution?

    Thanks.

    1. Thanks so much for your feedback, Max!
Sorry to hear you have been having issues... As of right now I haven't had anyone report any Airplay bugs, and as such I don't have any advice on how to reverse this issue. I will test your scenarios and give you a proper response as soon as I can.
Thanks for enjoying the product, and thanks for your help in making the product better!

    2. Hi Matt,
      Thanks for the speedy reply.

I have made a quick video of the first issue I am having, that of the iPhone going to sleep while playing music videos. The YouTube link is below (you have to follow the link to play it, it's not searchable).

Hope this helps working out what the problem is, maybe I did something wrong.

    3. Ok, YouTube scrubbed the audio from the above video due to copyright. Annoying as the music video wasn't the pint, just part of a demo.

I have made a second demo with different music, and hopefully it won't get muted again.

    4. Hey Max!
This is a serious issue, and I apologize for it. I have been working on the next release, and intend to have a fix for this in the next version. I'll message you when it gets published!

  7. I purchased the app and converted some tv shows to music videos. The playlist appears in the app but when I try to play one it just gives me a black screen. Any idea what is wrong

    1. I'm guessing that these shows are unfortunately a protected DRM file, and Apple doesn't give us app developers the right to play these files. So you will have to use the default Music app or Videos app.

  8. How do I shuffle videos in a playlist?

    1. Press the "repeat" button once, it will turn into "repeat 1" song. Press it again, it turns into "shuffle." Leave it on the shuffle symbol and your songs will shuffle through the given playlist.
